Our Story
BlueprintCo was founded by Charlotte Taylor and Ben Barnes.
Having worked together previously on a range of projects within law enforcement, we set up BlueprintCo as a company that could take our shared working approach and complementary skills, and build a company that can provide law enforcement with a different type of supporting service.
However, on forming the company we recognised that underpinning our collaborative work so far was a fundamental shared set of values. Everyone in our team now shares and builds on our team values as core to what we do.
BlueprintCo’s vision is to give law enforcement access to a new type of value driven services and support that truly puts policing first. We believe such services will be needed for senior leadership to overcome the challenges needed within policing and deliver a modern UK policing force.
Our founding core values are at the heart of everything we do. That will always be the case. No matter how large we grow.
Charlotte Taylor
Charlotte brings a wealth of experience from a decade-long career in policing, having started in an operational role before moving to tactical and strategic roles.
Charlotte is passionate about incorporating academia into policing, having completed a Master's Degree in Applied Criminology and Police Management, that focused on evidenced based policing.
Having left Policing to pursue new challenges, Charlotte has spent the last 3 years working on government and policing programmes, delivering business change and reviewing capabilities at a national level.
Ben Barnes
Ben has a background in large systems engineering and systems thinking moving to large scale management and business consultancy, where his focus is designing organisations, operating models and change. He has spent the last seven years focussed in law enforcement where he has helped deliver numerous national level law enforcement specific operating models and strategies, and supported resulting national programmes
Ben’s related specialism is working with organisations to discover true operational needs, having spent eight years building specialist capabilities and approaches for teasing out requirements and future operating concepts - specialising in high compliance, high safety sectors for a FTSE 100 engineering company.
